Description of departments

Business development department

Business Development Department implements new preparations and enters into cooperation with the external entities in order to acquire new technologies and products. Out of seven original medicinal products registered in Poland, three belong to Jelfa.

Individuals employed in this department elaborate the applicable reports and the opinions regarding the agreements to be executed and manage the license cooperation. They are responsible for the complex proceedings concerning registration of our products in Poland and abroad.

A very modern and well-equipped research laboratory operates within the said department. People working there have extensive experience and wide knowledge in this field.

Among the individuals working in this department we find mainly physicians and pharmacists who know the expectations of the patients and the market needs.

Production

Production comprises the manufacturing departments such as: tablet department, ampoule department, and ointment department, departments where the medicinal products, raw materials and other items are stored. The employees of this department modernize and maintain the buildings and the devices so that the Company may continue its operations in safe conditions.

The tasks performed within the said department require extensive knowledge in the field of mechanics, production processing, construction and pharmacy.

Among the employees of this department, there are people specializing in pharmacy, construction, mechanics and power engineering.

Department regarding legal and corporate affairs

This department is responsible for the organizational issues as well as for the proper coordination of the operations of the Company in terms of legal affairs. These, however, are only part of the major duties of the employees working in the Legal and Corporate Department. The Department comprises also the units managing HR, social issues, fire protection, personal and property protection as well as the environment issues. One should also mention the news room that operates within the Legal and Corporate Affairs Department. The staff is responsible for passing on the information from within the company into outside.

The corporate bulletin „In Sanitas” is the outcome of the said operations. The bulletin is published by the Polish-Lithuanian-Slovakian team. The group of the people employed in Jelfa also participates in preparation of this corporate newspaper.

Lawyers, economists and the specialists regarding such fields as: HR, industrial safety, environment protection and transportation, work here.

Economic department

The employees working here are responsible for the organization, coordination and management of the accounting so that the finance law is obeyed.

Within the economic department, there operate special units managing the budget, making the analysis of the expenses and assessing the investment undertakings of the company. These analyses are of vital importance to us as they help us to assess the purposefulness of planned operations and, if necessary, they help to reduce the negative effects of the actions already taken.

This department includes economists, accountants and the team of the computer specialists who coordinate the operations of the integrated system SAP.

Commercial operattions

This department is responsible for organization, coordination, management and supervision of the issues connected with sales both on domestic market and abroad. People working in this department create and execute the marketing strategy. The employees of this department including the team of medical and pharmaceutical representatives create the positive image of the products and the Company and are responsible for implementation of the sales plans.

The Commercial Department deals also with managing the orders, coordinates the deliveries to the customers, monitors the sales and takes necessary actions to support its implementation. The specialists continually supervise the trends on the market.

Jelfa’s preparations are well-known and popular in Poland and abroad thanks to their hard work.

This is one of the major departments in the Company. Medical and pharmaceutical representatives, product managers, trade marketing specialists and the market research specialists are employed in this department.

We should also mention pharmacists, physicians, economists and analysts. These are the people who know the market needs the best.

Quality assurance

Due to the intense competition on the pharmaceutical market, it is not only the price but mostly the quality of the products that has the major influence on the sales volume. The Quality Assurance Division is responsible for the quality issues. The division comprises two departments: the Quality Assurance and the Quality Control. Both departments are of vital importance to us.
The Quality Assurance Department deals with the creation, development, coordination and management of the operations related to the Quality Assurance System in accordance with the approved system of the company, in compliance with the state legislation and the GMP requirements. The employees of the Quality Assurance Department conduct the research works; assess the starting and packaging materials as well as the semi-products. They are responsible for the supervision of the manufacturing conditions during the production process, storing and the distribution. Moreover, they deal also with the proper assessment of the test results basing on the Batch Protocols.
People holding the following positions work in the Quality Assurance Department:

Specialists regarding Supervision and Archiving of the Documentation. They elaborate the procedures for creating the documentation regarding the Quality Management System;

Specialists regarding Engineering Systems. They participate in process validations and elaborate the applicable documentation;

Specialists regarding the Standards. They deal with the normalization of the quality and they elaborate the quality requirements for the products to be shipped abroad in accordance with the requirements set by the contracting parties;

Specialists regarding the Complaints. They are responsible for conducting the complaint proceedings – keeping the documentation, preparing the applicable answers to the filed complaints, documenting the actions taken in relation to the recall or suspension of the defective batch.

People working in this division graduated from medical and pharmaceutical sciences or they specialize in economy.
